I’ve been watching over Odysseus on his journey home, and some of the things he has done do not resemble the acts of a leader. Recently, Odysseus got himself, and several of his men trapped in Polyphemus’ cave. It shows very poor leadership to not do what is best for his men. And now, they are in great danger.
I do admire a few things about Odysseus, though. I admire his bravery. To go into a cave and not know what lies within, takes a lot of bravery. To stab a giant Cyclops in the face, takes a lot of bravery. In this way, Odysseus shows some qualities of a leader. To be a leader, one must be very brave. He takes on the tough tasks, and faces them head on.
However, Odysseus is a very cocky person. He is taunting Polyphemus! Why would you ever taunt a creature of Polyphemus’ size and strength? You have really gotten yourself into trouble this time, Odysseus. You will undoubtedly be cursed by the god Poseidon, and have a lot of trouble getting home. I will be looking down on you, Odysseus.
